Bryan Adds Two Commitments for 2009 Bryan College Press Release Dec 28, 2008

 

Bryan College added two solid student-athletes to the 2009-2010 recruiting class.  Local standout Alex Stephens of Cleveland High committed to the Lions, while Orlando based senior Jason McLeod of Circle Christian School chose to compete for Bryan as well.

\"undefined\"Bryan College captured the NAIA Region XII and Appalachian Athletic Conference Cross Country Championship in convincing fashion Saturday, by placing five athletes in the top nine positions. The championship was hosted by the Milligan College at Sycamore Shoals State Park.  Bryan totaled 29 points as the host Milligan finished second with 54.  King College took the third team slot with 129 points.  Individually for the Lions, Daniel Goetz led the way with a second place finish and time of 25:50.80 over the eight-kilometer course.  Milligan's Ben Ronoh took the individual crown in 25:27.10.

\"undefined\"Bryan College is starting their cross country season with high expectations.  Returning their top four athletes from the 2006 Region XII runner-up finish, the Lions were picked by the Appalachian Athletic Conference coaches to finish at the top this fall.  The men received six first place votes and totaled 62 points, just in front of Milligan College, who received two first place votes and a total of 58 in the preseason poll.  Covenant College and King College were very close for the third and fourth spots as well.  Bryan College was also rated atop the Region XII rankings, ahead of Milligan and Berea College.

Senior Hunter Hall became the latest athlete to sign scholarship papers to join Bryan College\'s cross country and track programs. Hunter placed 50th at the Tennessee State Championships that saw the Bruins finish 6th as a team. He made the All South team in the senior race at Footlocker South with a time of 16:33 and 24th overall. Hunter has personal bests of 4:39 for the 1600 and 10:17 for the 3200 meter run.

Caleb Morgan & Bailey Payne to compete for Bryan College Bryan College Press Release Apr 18, 2006

Bryan College added another area athlete to its men\'s roster when they signed Walker Valley High standout Caleb Morgan. Morgan was named to the Chattanooga Times Free Press Cross Country All Area Second Team for 2005. He holds school records in the 800 and 1600 meter runs for the Mustangs. Earlier this winter he set an indoor personal best with a 4:38.70 mile at the Niswonger Invite held in Johnson City, TN.
