Dunlap, TN - Sequatchie County High senior Bryson Harper signed scholarship papers Tuesday, to attend Bryan College in the fall of 2007. Harper was third at the TSSAA State Cross Country Championship this fall with his 17:12.60 over the five-kilometer Percy Warner course. As a junior, he ran 4:34.03 at the TSSAA State Track & Field Championship to finish fifth. Success is found in the classroom as well, where Mr. Harper finished fourth in his graduating class with a 4.0 GPA.
"Bryson is a very gifted athlete that commits himself to everything he gets involved with. I'm looking forward to what he'll accomplish as a student and athlete at Bryan College. In speaking with his coaches, he is very undertrained and that peaked my interest even further. Bryson will fit in well with our athletes and help continue the early success our program is reaching. He had a great fall with his run at the state champs, and after some down time this winter with an injury, he'll be ready for another solid championship run," said head coach Rodney Stoker.
