Record Setting Performances

Between the girls and the boys, eleven State Meet Records were set on Sunday at the Tennessee State Indoor Championship across a wide spectrum of events. Before we turn the page to outdoor season, let's take some time to take look at these and give you a opportunity to vote for which performance stood out to you most. Poll closes on Saturday around midnight.

  • Jeremiah Patton - Youth Track Of Memphis: Patton set the State Meet record in the 60m dash with a 6.82. He also holds the state All-Time mark of 6.76 for the event as well.
  • Jack Wallace - True Performance: This was Wallace's second win in three days in the Mile at the Vanderbilt facility. The only faster mile indoors is by Brodey Hasty who ran 4:00.05 at Millrose in 2018.
  • Keegan Smith - Knox Catholic: Smith broke his own two mile record he set a year ago in a solo effort on Sunday defending his title in the event. His 9:05.83 is the #6 All-Time mark for the distance indoors.
  • Miles Nesmith - Youth Track Of Memphis: Nesmith won both the horizontal jumps competitions on Sunday with a State Meet Record of 49-10 in the triple. The only other jumper ahead of him in the All-Time list is former teammate Zavien Wolfe who jumped 50-0.5 in 2023. He's just 2.5 inches from matching that mark.
  • Bryce Thompson - Farragut: Thompson hadn't thrown in over a month but didn't miss a beat when he entered the circle again at Vanderbilt. His 65' 5" effort set a new State Meet Record and moved him to #6 in the US for the shot put.
  • JR Fowler - Knox Catholic: This winter, JR Fowler has made the weight his focus event and it paid off. The junior set a new state meet record at 64' 6.5" moving to #3 on the All-Time list.
