Performer Of The Week
Every week this season we will be conducting a poll from beginning Monday and ending Thursday to highlight performances from the previous week. This will give us an opportunity to showcase the best talent in Tennessee. Though some athletes will likely run times every week that are worthy of being in the poll, our goal is to cast a wide net and showcase a vast array of athletes from all parts of the state.

This Week's Candidates
- Christopher Talley (Whitehaven): The defending Division I Class AAA State Champion for 110m Hurdles dipped below fourteen seconds for the first time in his career in Tupelo. It's the fastest time in Tennessee and the #4 time in the country for the Class of 2026.
- Dominic Taylor (Riverdale): The last time we saw Taylor on a track outdoors he was limping off the track at MTSU after pulling up with a hamstring injury halfway through the 100m final. After a strong indoor campaign, he returned to the track taking home three golds in the 100m, 200m, and High Jump going 10.66, 21.66, and 6-2 at the Eli Cramer Early Bird. His sprint events are 4th and 2nd in the state respectively.
- Gabe Cabell (Christ Presbyterian): After indoors, I thought the runner to watch from CPA this season was Tyler Nunn. After a couple of events at Green Hill on Saturday, I quickly realized CPA is has more to offer. Gabe Cabell is a freshman for the Lions and swept the short sprints on Saturday with a 10.93 to open the day and a 22.16 (video above). Considering he's a 400m TMSAA Champion, with Nunn (who also won the 400m on Saturday), the Lions are in strong shape on several relays with this duo this spring.
- Maxwell Manning (Memphis Mustangs): Speaking of former TMSAA State Champions, Maxwell Manning is now a National Champion after winning the freshman boys 400m at Adidas Track Nationals on Saturday. His 50.07 is the 9th fastest indoors for the Class of 2028 and the fastest ever by a freshman in Tennessee indoor history.
