Brentwood Adds Depth
The Brentwood High School Girls are currently on a three-year title streak for the largest classification in Division I and it's hard to see when that streak is going to end. On Saturday the Bruins put six girls under the twelve minute mark at the Siegel Under The Stars 2 Mile Time Trial (held at Oakland this year due to construction). Here's a side by side look at their performance last night compared to their times run at this same meet last August.

Rachel Haws was the top finisher for the second year in a row followed by Peyton Strauss who dropped 31 second in this event since racing at Eli Cramer two weeks ago. Lia Banovac followed with a 43 second year over year improvement with Lydia Cromwell close behind. While those names should be synonymous with the Blue and Gold the next one, Abi Cobb, is likely not. Cobb, who ran for Liberty Creek last year and placed 4th in the Division I Class AA/A state championship, has since moved from Sumner County to Williamson and donned a Bruins uniform for the first time on Saturday adding depth to what already was the favorite to defend. With Lauren Banovac rounding out the top six and Strauss the only senior of the top seven, it's hard to see this title streak ending before 2026. Nolensville's Searcy Mooney was the only other runner under 12:00 with an 11:48.
On the boys side, the Brentwood boys took the top two spots with Robert Pautienus taking the victory in 9:35 (unofficially) and Wyatt Hamilton runner up in 9:47. Six other runners broke 10-minutes with Jaden Hillis (Liberty Creek), Ty Brown (Central Magnet), Logan Humphries (Nolensville), Payne Fielder (Brentwood), Vinny Peck (Central Magnet), and Michael Eischen (Centennial) finishing in that order.
