Prediction: "insert your team here" Is Going To Win State

"HH wins state again duh"

"FRHS girls win state... new blood coming in"

"Webb girls will be D-II AA champions, but it will be by a narrow margin"

"Webb girls win state"

"Harpeth Hall back 2 back"

Of all the responses the post received, D-II Class AA girls had the most submissions and it's easy to see why. Most of the top finishing girls from last year's state meet are back and if you're not Harpeth Hall, who won, likely feel as if a state championship was in reach. Of the top 35 finishers in 2021, only ONE was a senior.  Of the top five finishing team, three return their entire scoring 5. One returns everyone. Here's the breakdown:

The continuity in this division is a statistical outlier. When they line up again in November, it will feel like a rematch but just because certain teams return a lot of runners, the outcome can vary significantly year over year. For instance, GPS won in 2020, returned four of their top five, added Mariah Ivery, and placed 3rd in 2021.
