Division II A Boys:
High Jump
Before Grant Campbell cleared 6' 7" this last weekend in Johnson City, CPA's Judah Doyle and London Humphreys were 2 of only 3 jumpers state wide to have eclipsed the 6' 6" mark and they did it on the same night at the same competition.
*whispers: London is a sophomore *
*whispers again: Judah is a freshman*
Crazy. Unfortunately, London will be coming directly off the Long Jump but Judah, the top seed at 6' 4" will be fresh and hopefully ready to finally improve on his Personal Best. He's currently only the 6th freshman in state history to clear 6' 6" and a clearance of 6' 8" would tie him with the only other freshman to ever do so, Joseph Hall of Centennial in 2015.
Sprint Relays
In 2019, Nashville Christian School only brought two male athletes to the state championship, one runner and one thrower. Fast forward two season and while CPA has the best mark coming in in all relays, Nashville Christian is right behind them in all the ones 1600m and below. Quite an improvement season over season. According to our record books, six school records were set this year including the 4x1 and 4x4 relays. If the NCS squad wants to break the 4x2 it's going to take about a second improvement over their regional time. Not an impossible task to accomplish when you're competing on the state stage. I think the team will have the man power and motivation to challenge CPA every time they take the track together with a rotation of eight or more runners including Jamel King, Donovan Smith, Deion King, Jaelyn Marsh, James Warmbrod, Damien Pugarin, Matt McClary, and Carson Guthrie some of which can be seen below.
