When Cole Bullock was racing in high school, he was on the National Top 10 rankings in the 1600m, 3200m, and 5k but I never had the opportunity to interview him because 1) he didn't race in the region that I covered and 2) he never won a state championship in any event. After last Monday's 18th place finish at the NCAA Cross Country Championships, I reached out to first, congratulate him on his accomplishment and second, offer to retroactively highlight his career to this point though this interview to dig down to what it took to put those big race demons behind him.
