State Storylines: Large Division I

Siegel's Last Stand?

Based on composite times, they are not the favorite but they're still the champion until someone dethrones them and I'm hesitant to bury them just yet. Canaan Anderson will also be part of the field that is chasing Silas but will be pivotal in securing a top 5 finish if he is to lead his team to the Three-Peat. The team's finish will be dependent on the performance of fellow Seniors Seth Robinson, Jacob Boykin, and Emilio Vernon.

It will not be a runaway this year though. There are a lot of talented, hungry teams jockeying for supremacy positions behind them. Bartlett, who shocked everyone last season with their second place finish, returns every runner from last year's squad, Franklin comes in with the best composite time of any team, and then there is Central Magnet (Enrollment of 821) who beat them at their region meet by 1 point. Other teams that are going to be in the mix are Brentwood and Hardin Valley. Both teams only have one senior in scoring position so they may still be one year away from being the favorite to win but a top 3 showing could catapult them to the top of the power rankings headed in to next season.

While the girl's race seemingly only has one or two different outcomes this race has a lot more. You're better off predicting the Democratic Nominee for President than trying to figure out how these top 5 or 6 teams are going to finish. Though the course may be sloppy, the drama will be at an all-time high. Better get their early though because this classification races first on Saturday.
