Blackman Middle won the Class AA 4x100m dash last year and return as the #2 overall seed this season. Them and Hickory Ridge are the only two teams under 46 seconds in Class AA.
TMSAA State Championships
Before the high schools take to the track next week, Tennessee Middle Schoolers will crown state champions at Austin Peay this weekend and MileSplit will be there to cover it. Every year the TMSAA expands it's footprint across the state bringing more and more prominence to the event that just a few years ago only encompassed a handful of counties who were participating members. In 2022, Williamson County joined and in 2023, Davidson County followed suit. Though the expansion this year was a couple of schools here and there, one Dalewood Middle out of Chattanooga is likely to have an immediate impact in their first year participating. Karontae' Cunningham has run under 11 seconds for 100 meters multiple times this season and if he can on Saturday, will break Jordan Ware's meet record from 2019 in the process.
