CROSS TEAMS FINISH SECOND AT LENOIR RHYNE INVITATIONAL
HICKORY, N.C. -Although the affects of the 24 hour virus hampered some performances the effort was there and both men and women competed well in the team competition. Individual performances were highlighted by the racing of Derick Parker and Helania Masters. Both runners had finished at the number 3 position for the team in the opener at Tusculum but moved to the front for King this time out. Derick’s 27:58 place him in fourth overall and Helania’s 20:03 was second on the “not very fast” course.
“Overall both groups are racing very well and it is exciting to see the individual enthusiasm growing. Seldom do all the team members run their very best on the same day and this was true today. Our plan is to have that happen in November” - Coach Murrell
