Female Outstanding Athlete of the meet Judy Johnson led the way with wins in the 100, 200, Long Jump, Triple Jump and 4x400 relay as the King woman won by 40 points over runner up Milligan. King has now won three AAC titles in a row and is the only team to ever win the crown. Joining Judy as AAC champions were Molly Burrows (100H, 400H and 4x400), Tessa Garrett (High Jump and Javelin), Mary Armstrong (Pole Vault & 4x100), JaRethea Adams (4x100), Amanda Davis (400, 4x100, 4x400), Brittany Simmons (4x100, 4x400). When all was said and done the Tornado Women had finished first in 12 Conference events.
On the men’s side Josh Cloyd joined Judy as the meet’s outstanding performer. Josh was the “go to” guy with wins in the high jump, long jump and 400 hurdles and 4x400 relay. Josh also finished second in the triple jump. Other wins for the team came from Derek Nave (shot put and Hammer throw), Tyrell Cuffy (100 and 200), Jamaal Parker (triple jump), Brandon Gray (400 and 4x400), Marcus Lomans (4x400) and David Krenik (4x400). It was a heart breaker to lose by only one point (193 to 192) team gave it their all just losing to a team that finished 6th in the nation last year.
