It’s the kind of jump that will raise an eyebrow. On the same course as last week’s regionals, The King’s Academy’s Niamh Schumacher cut 16 seconds off her time to finish third in the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association’s Division II-A girls cross country championships. “Oh man, that was incredible,” said Lions coach Jeff Ayers. “She shaved that (time) off. That was awesome. ... It just shows a lot of hard work and dedication paid off there. When you put that much into it, even if it’s a few seconds, that’s great. Sixteen seconds, that’s really good from one week.”Staff Reports (via www.themountainpress.com)
