For the junior cross country runner and her team, the expectations have never been higher. The season has only just begun, but the Commodores are already making headlines, thanks primarily to their remarkable success last fall.

Nashville, Tenn. - The Vanderbilt women's cross country team opens the 2012 season ranked sixth nationally by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association, marking the first time in program history the team has been ranked in the preseason coaches' poll.

Jorgensen Named Freshman of the Week Vanderbilt University Press Release Sep 10, 2007

Vanderbilt freshman Rita Jorgensen was recently named SEC Female Freshman of the Week after finishing fourth overall at the Belmont/Vanderbilt Opener last Friday night.  She helped lead Vanderbilt to a second-place team showing.
