Gilly Shumate placed 5th in Division II Class AA a year ago but has raced sparingly so far this season due to some lingering ailments. Her race on Saturday was a return to form with a blistering 17:40 to secure a 3rd place finish against some of the state's best.
Performer Of The Week
Every week this season we will be conducting a poll from beginning Monday and ending Thursday to highlight performances from the previous week. This will give us an opportunity to spotlight the best talent in Tennessee. Though some athletes will likely run times every week that are worthy of being in the poll, our goal is to cast a wide net and showcase a vast array of athletes from all parts of the state. This week, due to the low volume due to fall break we combined the girls and boys polls into one selecting two candidates from each.
