Alec Reed Runs 50.13
The first and only time I've seen Alec Reed race was at last season's Houston Track Classic where he ran a 50.17 to win the event as a FRESHMAN with teams like Bartlett, Whitehaven, and Memphis Central in attendance. The next time I saw him was at state but he wasn't there as a qualifier. His promising season hit a speedbump as he was injured shortly after that race. He seems to be back to 2021 form however with this performance above and it adds to the already established firepower Section 4 has in the event this season. He's currently sandwiched between two Bartlett Panthers in the rankings, Ezekiel Miller (49.86) and Xavier Haley (50.47) who are ranked #1 and #3 respectively. Meanwhile, the section is returning defending state champion Terrick Johnson and other All-State finishers Courtland Noble and Quincy Briggs. It took 49.92 just to qualify out of Section 4 last year, this year it may take 48 mid. Keep an eye on this event this spring.
