Week 5 Highlights: Southern Showcase, NC Meets

Around the State

Fenders Farm

Science Hill's Trinny Duncan followed up her 3rd place finish at Cherokee last week with a win on Saturday at Fenders Farm. Her time of 18:58 was the second time she's dipped under the nineteen-minute mark this season. Zoe Arrington debuted in this race and placed third.

Huntingdon High School Invitational

Colton King won his fourth meet of the season on a Tuesday meet at his home course. The Junior who placed 4th the Small Division I 3200 in May has logged 6 races so far this season with his best time being a 16:25 at Twilight which was good enough for a 10th place finish. Prior to all results being processed, he currently ranks 7th in Class AA/A. Might be one to look out for if he doesn't run out of gas by November.

On the girl's side it was also the 3rd win of the season for Victoria Markham who runs for Augustine High School. After some brief research, I'm not 100% certain they're a TSSAA member team but assuming they are DII-A 20:04 would rank 4th in the classification.

Johnson University Invitational

Cade Crum of Bearden got his first victory of his career with a time of 17:07 while Anderson County's Kaitlyn Fisher placed first on the girl's side. Course definitely ran slower than Cherokee where both athletes PR'd last weekend.
