The AAA girl's pole vault started Day 3 at the State Track & Field Championships. As you made the turn on Greenland towards the Track facility, it was difficult to tell that anything was going on. The gates to the main stadium were locked and just a few cars in the parking lot. So you had to enter through the warm up field. Anytime you walk up to a vaulting area during the warm up part, it's always a peculiar site to see all the poles standing in line as each vaulter makes their run throughs. Like horsemen wielding a lance and getting ready to joust!
Well, the jousting did begin as all sixteen girls made their run throughs and started clearing the bar. Sixteen vaulters takes a bit of time to get through. Although after about an hour and forty one minutes, all vaulters got to say they competed -- and cleared -- a height at the 2015 State Championships Track & Field meet.
