1/29/14 - Nashville - The entries are in and teams are making final preparations before descending on Nashville for the 1st KYA-NYA Vanderbilt Invitational this Saturday February 1st. With a brand new track, athletes from the Southeast and as far as Maine have been waiting for their opportunity to check out the fast 300 meter oversized Mondo track. This is not just a meet to check out the facility, top athletes from around the state and surrounding region have signed up to get marks to move up the national lists and qualify for national competition. Four numbers outline what this meet has brought in:
28- Tennessee State Champions
22- Current Top-25 Nationally Ranked Athletes
7- Current Top-10 Nationally Ranked Athletes
4- Current Top-5 Nationally Ranked Athletes
Competition begins at 8AM with the Elementary 800 and Middle School Mile. High School Field Events begin at 9:30 and High School Running Events begin at Noon.
