Franklin Road Academy's Witt Maxwell opened and closed his career at Sanders Ferry Park. On August 28th, 2021 he ran 24:05 and finished 180th. On November 8th, 2024 he ran 16:58 and earned All-State Honors finishing 10th in Division II Class A. It was his first and only time to break seventeen minutes.
Class Of 2025 Most Improved
What I really enjoy about lists like this is 1) it allows us to draw attention to athletes who may not see themselves normally in the traditional rankings and 2) it also shows the light at the end of the tunnel for any freshman who may be struggling to see it. Distance running is personal and a process and if you see someone you know on here, let them know and congratulate them on their improvement over their career.
