2013 D2 West Region Track & Field Meet Review

Memphis University School campus was the home for some very exciting few days of Track & Field this week.  Tuesday started out with the field events, a four thirty start for the Women high jump, triple, discus, pole vault and the men’s shot and long jump.  The remaining events started at around six thirty, but the men’s pole vault didn’t start till Wednesday, just before the prelims and 3200 finals. 

The women’s high jump had some talent coming into this meet, with high jump specialist Kayla Parker (Hutchison) and Morgan Leach of ECS and a couple seeded at the 5-2 mark in Ally Haynes (BCS), freshman Courtney Parker (SBA), and Mary Carson Pitts (Hutchison).    With a breeze and warm weather, I believe all the athletes were thankful to just be able to wear their normal uniforms instead of all the cold weather gear for a change.  That may have sparked some athletes; it certainly sparked Mary Carson Pitts.  Right next to the hi...
