World Indoor Champs to be broadcast on OLN

BOSTON - The 2006 IAAF World Indoor Track & Field Championships will be telecast nationally on the Outdoor Life Network and Webcast live on the Internet, USA Track & Field and the World Championship Sports Network (WCSN) announced Sunday.

The World Indoor Championships, to be held March 10-12 in Moscow, will be telecast on OLN from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, with rebroadcast later in the month. A burgeoning cable network that reaches 64 million U.S. households, OLN broadcasts sporting events including the Tour de France and the current NHL season.

The meet also will be Webcast via live Video on Demand, available at www.wcsn.com, which also Webcast the 2005 World Outdoor Championships in Athletics. The Website will unveil a new look on March 6 and will offer a full Webcast schedule of European meets throughout the summer.

"We are extremely pleased that American track fans will be able to follow Team USA as they head to Moscow to compete in the world's biggest indoor track meet," said USATF CEO Craig A. Masback. "By expanding the opportunities for track to be beamed into American homes, via television and the Internet, our sport will continue to thrive and grow its already substantial fan base."

WCSN will produce the telecast and Webcast in cooperation with the IAAF and USATF, who also worked together to bring American viewers television and live Webcast coverage of the 2005 World Outdoor Championships.
