Coach schools local runners @ Cleveland Shriners 5K

Bryan College Cross-Country Coach Rodney Stoker ran away with the gold at The 1st Annual Cleveland Shrine Club 5K. He taught a great lesson in running on Saturday by showing everyone that a 16:45 is running fast. "It was a good course and race", said Coach Stoker.

Cindy Lewis of Cleveland took the overall female plaque with a winning time of 19:28.

With many age group awards there were several runners winning medals in their respected age groups. The overall results and awards can be found at Race Page.

"We are pleased with the way the race turned out. We had approximately 78 people come out to run and support The Shriners and our hospitals." Said Herb Stafford Cleveland Shrine Club Officer. "I would like to thank everyone who came out to run today. This is for such a great cause, and with the help of the runners and all of our sponsors we raised over $1000 for The Shrine Activities".

Please remember thank all of these businesses for not only supporting The Shriners but for supporting the running community as well. Without their support our race and other races in our community would not be possible.

We had a big showing from the local high school cross-country teams. I think we will have a great showing this year in high school running. I would like to remind everyone to get out and support your local high school and college running teams this year, also if you have any ideas or suggestions for next years race please post them on the Forums Page.
