Knoxville, TN - The Bryan College Track & Field Lions had two runner-up finishes at the Tennessee Invitational on Saturday.  Tennessee hosted the event in preparations for the SEC Track & Field Championships set to start Thursday, May 13th and end Sunday, May 16th at UT’s Tom Black Track.

Sophomore Bryson Harper (Sequatchie County High, TN) finished second to UTK’s Peter Sigilai in the men’s 1500 meter run in a personal best of 3:55.87.  The time qualifies Harper for the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championship at the end of May.

Former Tellico Plains High School standout Josh Ball was runner-up in the men’s 400 meter hurdles with a personal best and new school record of 56.04.

Senior Josh Bradley (Ringgold, GA) was fourth in the men’s 800 meter run crossing the line in 1:51.15.  Bradley is currently ranked 6th in the NAIA standings.

Freshmen Alyssia Lindsay (Rhea County High, TN) set a school record in the women’s 1500 meter run in 5:00.91, while teammate Ericka Simpson (Grayson, GA) was close in a personal best at 5:03.29.

“Our athletes are improving each time we step on the track.  Harper and Bradley have reached a new level of fitness and are eager to race again in the coming weeks.  This young group of men and women impress me with their accomplishments this spring, and with more ahead it should be exciting to watch.”  Commented head coach Rodney Stoker.

The Lions will be back in action at the Georgia Tech Invitational on May 14th & 15th.
