Dalton State To Host First Annual NOOGA AT NIGHT Invite

Nooga At Night

On October 12th, the inaugural "Nooga At Night" cross country meet will be contested at at the Camp Jordan Soccer Complex in East Ridge marking the first time a nighttime cross country meet in recent memory will take place in the Greater Chattanooga area. The installed stadium lights will illuminate the running path in the same way Mike Rose Soccer Complex does for Memphis Twilight. Similarly, the meet will be a mix of high school and collegiate divisions. The mastermind behind the event is Jared Eddy, assistant coach of the host team Dalton State.

"I've always wanted Chattanooga to have a night race, and I knew Camp Jordan would be the perfect venue to host. This will also be a great opportunity for college coaches to see a high school race and high school students to see what colleges have a cross country program. There are so many opportunities for high school students to run, and I hope this race is a great chance for them to see what programs are out there. With over 30 high schools and 5 states represented, I expect this to be a fast and competitive race. Thankful for all the teams that are traveling to compete and hope that we can host more teams next year!"

With regionals on the horizon, this is the one of the last regular season competition weekends teams will partake in before qualifying season and before the stakes are raised.

The meet will feature thirty or so teams five different states and the entries are shaping up to be solid. Here are the top five boys and girls at the time of this publishing:
