Service Details and Obituary

Tristen Franklin

On March 2nd, 2024, freshman Tristen Franklin ran in his first track meet for Sycamore High School at the Middle Tennessee Jamboree held at Wilson Central High School where he would place runner up in the 5th heat of the 1600m (video above). He would take to the track eleven more times last spring ending the season as the 28th ranked freshman in Tennessee regardless of classification for 3200m with a 10:33. Just 10 days ago on August 19th, he would open his sophomore cross country season with a victory at the MSCCA 2-Mile Challenge. This past Tuesday, while running through his neighborhood as he would often be seen doing, Tristen collapsed and could not be resuscitated. Cheatham County Schools released the following statement:

"The Cheatham County School District is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of a Sycamore High School student. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to the student's family and friends during this difficult time. The impact of such a loss is immeasurable. Counseling support is being provided this week at Sycamore High School to assist those affected during this grieving process."

Sycamore High School will offer counseling services to students and staff during this time of mourning. No official cause of death has been released at this time.

We will update this article with arrangements and ways you can support the Franklin family as they are made available.
