Station Camp Sweeps

Last year, the Station Camp Girls placed runner up in the TMSAA Class AA Championship while the boys took home 4th. After Friday, they appear on track to make a run at both titles again this year. The boys set the tone scoring 40 points with a 30 second 1-5 Split. 7th Graders Owen Neal and Noah Ramazan led the Bison finishing 3rd and 5th overall. On the girls side, after the top two finisher, four runners in maroon crossed the finish en route to a low score of just 28 points.

Young, Cox Notch Another Win

With the emphasis on expanding our middle school coverage this year, we've been posting a lot of rankings recently for these grades and some names keep coming up. On Friday, I finally got to meet a couple of them. Avery Young of Northeast Middle topped the list for the second week in a row and on Friday, ran close to his PR again winning the boys race in 11:06.

This is his third win of the season and second at the Hermitage. Micah Bobo of Arrows XC placed runner up with a new best for him of 11:19.

On the girl's side, Siegel's Kinslee Cox was able to withstand the challenge of Columbia Academy's Gracie Orton who won at this course a couple of weekends ago with the help of a 22 second PR and new TN Middle School #1 for 2 miles of 12:16.

Cox placed 14th at the TMSAA State meet last year as a seventh grade. She's improved by almost 40 seconds from her best last season. Orton, who was at TN #3 in this week's rankings will rank behind only Cox after this meet.
