Miller Debuts With Two Wins
Earlier this week we took time to profile Summit's Abby Miller and the unfortunate breakdown of events she encounters during outdoor season. However, the two events she attempted to double in last year, the 300m Hurdles and the 200m, were the ones she entered on Saturday and was able to win both events with a TN #1 time in the hurdles (above) with a 45.40, just off her best by .09 seconds, and a TN #5 time and new PR in the 200m at 25.75. That said, this double was much easier to do at a mega-meet with four heats of boys 300 hurdles, eleven heats of the 800m, and 20 more heats of the girls 200m before she took to the track again for the final heat (below).
During qualifying season that hour to an hour and a half recovery she enjoyed on Saturday is diminished to roughly twenty or thirty minutes. Still a good opener after a robust indoor campaign.
