Boys & Girls 400m Dash Heat 9
The same sentiment on the previous page about Notre Dame can be repeated for Silverdale Baptist although I would've been 99% confident prior to yesterday they were Class A. The Seahawks swept the final heats of the 400m dash on Saturday with Sophomore Liam Runkle (above) and Junior Addie Chapman (below) employing a similar race strategy staying strong over the final 150 meters of the race to pull away from the field late. This was Runkle's first documented time in the event posting a 52.88. That time would've earned him an auto qualifier had he run that in the East Region last year. His teammate (below) Chapman won the region title last year and went on to place 4th at the state meet with a 60 and change. She's been on the brink of breaking that barrier for two years now and it'll likely take that and more if she hopes to improve on that placement since all but one runner from the event return this season.
