Boys 110m Hurdles Heat 4
On Tuesday, Rockvale Senior Jakobe Tharp unlaced his sneakers for the final time of his high school basketball career when the Rockets lost in the semi-finals of the Region 4 tournament. On Saturday, he laced up his spikes and picked up right where he left off last season. I was honestly surprised when I saw his name on the entries thinking he may need a week or two of concentrated track time before entering a competition but I was wrong. Tharp ran three events going 13.94 in the 110m Hurdles (Above), 10.78 in the 100m Dash, and 41.77 in the 300m Hurdles. Of those, the only PR was the 300s since it was his first time running them since his sophomore year. This likely won't be a focus for him as he did place second in the 200m dash at state last year however it would it would be an easier path to a title since four of the top five finishers graduated from the low hurdle event last year.
