Gracey Owens - Houston
Senior Gracey Owens was an unlikely #1 for Houston on Saturday but her Top 10 finish (8th overall) is a testament to her maturity in the sport. Every year of high school she has qualified for state, run at least six races per season, and ever since her third race, has only run over 21 minutes one time which was at state as a sophomore where she fell in the first 400 meters of the race. Even amidst a downpour on Saturday, the senior's consistency anchored the Mustangs to a first place finish as a team edging Lafayette (MO) by 10 points. They currently rank 4th overall in Division I Class AAA where they finished 8th last season.
