It is with great sadness we must share the passing of Tellico Plains Senior Darrah Wiseman who died tragically in a car accident last night. Another student from Tellico Plains was in the vehicle and remains in the ICU. Darrah was the daughter of Chris and Melissa Wiseman and sister of Malerie Wiseman. As of right now, no funeral arrangements will be scheduled for the foreseeable future. For now please keep both families and the Tellico Plains community in your thoughts and prayers. Six Time State Champion
On October 29th, Darrah Wiseman placed 11th in the Division I Class AA/A Region 3 Meet claiming her spot on the line in Hendersonville for the 4th time in her cross country career but the course is not where Darrah gained her notoriety. Wiseman excelled at the shorter distance running events winning two state championships each spring. Darrah had recently committed to continue her running career at Tennessee Tech University.
Knoxville Youth Athletics, who she would run for in the winter and summer, has arranged for wristbands to be distributed at the TSSAA State Cross Country Meet in her memory that can be picked up at the MileSplit tent.
