2022 AAU Junior Olympic Games: Tennessee Highlights

AAU Junior Olympic Games

This past weekend marked the eighth month in a row of competition for some of these athletes. Indoor season runs into scholastic outdoor season which rolls right into club outdoor season. It's a long season but for some of these athletes that survived the grind capped it off with some big performances and  PRs. While I can't shine light on all of them, I chose at one from each area of the state to highlight.

Rutherford County Track Club

In the Girl's 15-16 Age Group Division, the ladies from Rutherford County placed 5th in the finals with a head turning time of 3:52.04 which will ranks 6th ALL-TIME in our database. The relay team collection of runners in Middle Tennessee that included Taylin Segree (Lipscomb Academy), Kyla Joy (Oakland High School, Camryn Merryman, and Brea Vann (Both of Stewarts Creek).

The entire squad broke 60 in the open 400 with Segree and Joy finishing the season in the Top 10 and Merryman in the Top 20. Will be excited to see how this foursome will impact Section 2 and Division II next season.
