Breaking: Bryan Brown Stepping Down As HVA Head Coach

Coach Brown - HVA

Hardin Valley Academy opened in the fall of 2008 and to this point has only had one coach at the helm of it's Cross Country and Track and Field Programs; Bryan Brown. On Friday, he resigned his post as a Hawk to accept a position in the Knox County School's Central Office as an Athletic Director Specialist. During his 14 years at the helm he amassed just as many state championships and runner up finishes.

  • Three TSSAA Boys Cross Country State Titles: 2010, 2020, 2021
  • One TSSAA Girls Track State Title: 2012
  • One TSSAA Girls Track State Runner Up: 2021
  • Nine Indoor State Championships Combined between Boys and Girls

Brown has coached for 27 years in total. He talked in depth about his history in coaching and philosophy here in an interview last season with Knoxville Endurance.

If interested in filling this vacancy, reach out to Hardin Valley Principal Rob Speas.

Coach Tucker - FRA

Another program will have a new captain at the wheel next season as well as this retirement also hit my radar today.

Coach Tucker has overseen all five FRA State Titles stretching from 1998 all the way to this past season and is the mastermind behind the FRA Highland Games which, if you've never attended, is quite the spectacle.

Congratulations to both of these coaches as they transition to the next chapter of their careers and to all of those who we might've missed.
