A week ago or so, FRA hosted a practice meet with only a couple of other schools in attendance. Some of those times seemed a little quick for the third day of March and one coach reached out questioning their accuracy. While other teams took the weekend off to prepare for the official start of the season, FRA got a head start on theirs traveling to Louisiana to compete in the Judy Baehr Relays hosted by St. Thomas Aquinas. When the results hit our database I responded to the coach previously mentioned with "Times seem legit to me."
The defending Division II - A 400m Champion Thatcher Frankfather picked up almost where left off last season in terms of time with this 50.19. This time is the current TN #1
Earlier in the evening, Jeremiah Greer placed 3rd in the 100m dash with a 10.89 which is also the current TN #1.
While the season hasn't officially started and these times likely not standing beyond this upcoming weekend, the body of work and depth FRA has posted to date should turn heads in their division which they narrowly missed winning last season by 10 points. With their Achilles heel still being the distance events, they look to be well on their way to dominate the sprints and field events. Will it be enough come May to topple Harding? Something to keep an eye on.
