As you'll see throughout the countdown, last year was filled with incredible drama, can't miss racing, and record breaking history. Enjoy.
#4 Brown, Moore Refuse To Be Beat
If you attended the Small Division I State Championship on Tuesday and came back on Wednesday for the Division II racing you might've left thinking you just experience Deja Vu. On Tuesday, Pearl-Cohn Junior Barion Brown lit the track on fire winning both short sprint events and leading the Firebirds to victories in two relays. On Wednesday, Harpeth Hall Senior Emory Moore did the same for the Honey Bears but as you'll see as you rewatch each race, it was the way their final race ended that makes the "moment" and eerily ties these two outstanding sprinters to each other for this countdown. Here are their races in order.
The 100m Dash
Barion Brown run a then TN #1 10.49 to claim his first gold of the championship
Emory Moore runs 12.16 to take victory. She ended the season with a TN #1 11.86 run at the region competition.
Relay Victory #1
Brown anchors the Firebird 4x200m Relay to victory. Even though he was not on the #1 ranked 4x100m relay, Pearl Cohn still won that event without him.
Emory Moore is first to receive the baton and outruns Ensworth's Erica Douglas who placed runner up to Moore in the 100m Dash as well.
The 200m Dash
Brown pulls away again ending the season as TN #3 overall in the event.
Moore runs 24.20 which was .02 off her PR. She would end the season with the fastest time in both short sprints state wide.
