Division II Class AA Boys
The Team Race
There really isn't much to say about this race. It essentially followed to projections closer than any other classification or division.

The only real discrepancy was Christian Brothers sliding into 4th
ahead of Knox Catholic and Baylor. In the preview I said:
Ultimately, I think BA and FRHS are closer than 30 and almost 50 points but it remains to be seen if they're close enough.
That turned out to be accurate as well and McCallie was just too deep on this day to be beat. In 2020 as a freshman, Evan Simpson finished first for the Tornadoes and did so again. After a bad race from him at Meet in the Middle, I figured it was an anomaly or he was coming off of injury and it turned out the be the latter as he was dealing with a heel injury early in the season. The one-two punch of Simpson and Bowen moving forward with a supporting cast of Carlson and Outlaw with a middle school state championship team to backfill any outgoing runners will keep the well-oiled machine running for years to come.
Both McCallie and Brentwood Academy will return six of seven in 2022. Looking forward to watching these teams run it back next season.
