Last Year
At the outset of last year, I thought we would have a better grasp of the cross country landscape because I thought everyone would compete in state all season but that's not what happened at all. Many courses in large counties told host schools "you can't have that meet" (i.e. Steeplechase, Hermitage, & The Cedars of Lebanon) So what happened? Lots of schools went to Alabama every other week, the Knoxville schools created their own plan to only compete against each other, and Shelby County Schools shut it down altogether. There was little to no cross pollination from region to region.
All we had were times to base the rankings on so let's revisit these that were published in October of last year.
