Me to a friend from high school: "How many seasons did you triple jump before going over 45'?"
My friend: "1 week."
I reached out to him sometime in May when it became evidently clear Green Hill's Marzeion Jones would not be beat in the Triple Jump in his only ever season of track and field as Jalen Tate of West Creek similarly did two seasons prior. Some athletes just have "it" while others who have made a career out of certain disciplines may plateau at competitive distances and never reach head turning performances.
