2500 Athletes Set to Begin Season at Ashe Park Classic

Knoxville, Tenn. -- Knoxville Youth Athletics is set for the 6th annual Victor Ashe Park Fall Classic this Saturday August 31st.

With 119 teams and 2509 athletes currently registered, the meet will serve as a great first test for many teams. Victor Ashe Park plays host to major meets such as the TN State ES-MS XC Championships and the TSSAA Regional for area teams.

The course will once again serve as the AAU XC National course on 12/7/19.

Many coaches will want to see where their athletes stand coming off of their pre-season training. With near perfect weather and warm but not scorching temperatures, this will be a great marker to compare improvement over the course of the season.

Meet Director Chris Kane said he is excited about the continued growth of the meet. "Every year we have seen steady growth for this meet and this year it is no different. We have an out of state team coming in on the High School side and a couple middle school teams coming in from outside the area to preview the middle school state course. Glad that teams continue to consider this meet their official start of the season."

Milesplit will provide LIVE coverage on our twitter account -- @tnmilesplit -- throughout the meet.
