Sprints
Hurdles: Brevin Sims (Chatt. School for Arts and Sciences)
Chattanooga's five-time hurdle state champion will be back in the blocks this weekend in Nashville.
Sims is coming off a nice performance last weekend at the Mondo Elite HS Invitational where he placed fifth. He won the KYA HS Indoor Classic in 8.04 a few weeks ago too.
7.97 is the tenth-fastest time in the country right now. Sims may have a chance to crack that leaderboard and put himself in elite company with a big day. He'll race in lane five of heat two in the prelim round at 1:30 PM CT.
60/200: Jazine Pelcher (Austin East) & Alayah Dozier (Chattanooga School for Liberal Arts)
Both Pelcher and Dozier will compete in the 60 and 200 meter races on Saturday. And both have a chance to make the final and make some noise. Dozier set a new personal best at the KYA HS Indoor Classic when she ran 7.77 in the 60 and 24.79 in the 200. She won the 200 with a 25.18 in the final.
Pelcher had the top time in prelims a few weeks ago at KYA. He ended up finishing fourth with a 7.15 in the final. Last year at the state meet he finished ninth in 10.96 for 100 meters. He ran his 60 meter personal best of 6.94 at KYA last year.
