The accolades keep on coming for Knoxville Catholic's Jake Renfree.
After a marvelous senior season in Tennessee, Renfree was recently invited to don the red, white and blue. He'll be competing in Scotland this weekend in the Junior Co-Ed Relay at the SimplyHealth Great Edinburgh XCountry in Stirling.
Renfree will joined by three elite high school runners: Kelsey Chmiel, Katelynne Hart and Drew Bosley. The event will take place on Saturday, January 12. LIVE coverage will begin at 8:15 a.m. ET.
Team USA will compete against Europe's best at the senior and junior level, including multiple NCAA champions and olympians from around the globe. Renfree will represent the United States alongside pros such as Leonard Korir, Ben Blankenship and Garrett Heath.
The United States will be led by head coaches Mick Byrne (Wisconsin) and 2004 World Cross Country Championships bronze medalist Kathy Butler.
Renfree and his teammates will race a new course that features approximately 190m elevation and will include stunning views of Central Scotland and Stirling Castle, according to the event website.
