USATF TN Association Meet Review
For those of you not familiar with USATF, it’s the governing body of Track & Field in the USA. It’s a fantastic organization involved in all aspects of Track in this country. They put on several Track and cross country meets across the country all year long. They are also involved in the training and development of Coaches, Officials and Athletes. USATF does not do other sports, just Track & Field and Cross Country – so the expertise stays close to home. The USATF Junior Olympic events (which include this Track meet) start at the State level, qualifiers then move to a Regional meet (multiple states), and then to the National level. The TN meet had about 700 athletes competing in age groups starting at 8 years old and up to a limited number of 19 year olds.
