KNOXVILLE YOUTH ATHLETICS TO HOST TRACK AND FIELD OFFICIALS CERTIFICATION CLINIC AT ETSU IN CONJUNCTION WITH HIGH SCHOOL INDOOR MEET
KNOXVILLE, TENN. (January 9, 2014) — The Knoxville Youth Athletics will be hosting its second annual USATF (USA Track and Field) track and field officials certification clinic at East Tennessee State University.
The clinic will be held on Sunday, January 19 from 1-6 PM at the MSHA Center on ETSU’s Campus wrapping up a weekend full of track and field action at ETSU. Friday and Saturday will find the MSHA center ground zero for the Niswonger College Invitational and the Knoxville Youth Athletics High School Indoor Classic which will bring together as many as 2000 college and high school track and field athletes.
“Our goal for the clinic is to offer the area’s track and field community an opportunity to learn the rules of the sport of track and field,” said Marty Sonnenfeldt, Knoxville Youth Athletics Director. “Certifying new officials is critical for the area as new and larger track and field events come to town.”
The clinic is open to all regardless of experience. “ If you are a track fan, parent, coach or volunteer this clinic will provide everyone tools they can use in the upcoming indoor and outdoor track and field season”, mentioned Sonnenfeldt. For more information or to register for the clinic call (865) 304-8381 or visit the website at:
