MARCHANT AND CHATTANOOGA PICK UP SECOND PLACE FINISHES

Louisville, Ky. – Senior Lanni Marchant finished second in her third race of the season, leading the women's team to a second place finish, as the Mocs competed in the Greater Louisville Classic Saturday morning.

Marchant finished with a time of 17:33.38, on the 5,000 meter course behind Louisville's Tarah McKay in the 273-runner field.

For the second time this season, the Lady Mocs fell to Georgia Tech in the team scoring with the Yellow Jackets finishing with 83. Chattanooga finished with 139 points.

On the men's side, redshirt freshman Tim Clark had the top finish for Chattanooga. Clark finished 35th out of 325 runners. Senior Michael Mentz and junior Jeff Taylor finished 40th and 43rd, respectively.

Junior Josh McDougal of Liberty University took the individual title finishing the 8,000 meter course in 23:16.96, almost four seconds faster than the runner-up.

The men's team finished 10th overall, scoring 353. Louisville captured the men's team title with a score of 51.

The Mocs return home to host the Front Runner Invitational on Sat., Oct. 14 at Moccasin Bend. The first race will take place at 3:30 p.m.
