Kermit Tipton Stadium, Science Hill High School

FINAL Performance List (5/8; 11p)
Beginning in 1976, Kingsport track enthusiast Rick Earnest and local track coaches had a dream.
They approached Times News Executive Sports Editor Ron Bliss with the idea of an all-star track meet putting the best talent from the region on display.
Only the top nine entries (including ties) in each event will be eligible to compete. Entries will be done online through Milesplit and each school is allowed THREE entries per individual event and one relay team. Teams that are eligible are on an invitational basis ONLY.
Accepted entries will be based on OUTDOOR season bests from 2022 ONLY! No indoor marks, unverified marks or athletes without a mark at all will be accepted!
Local teams are defined as (in Virginia): every high school (public and private) that is west of the Pulaski/Montgomery county line to the westernmost borders is eligible. Out-of-area teams must request a formal invitation.
Local teams are defined as (in Tennessee): every high school (public and private) that is east of the Sevier/Knox county line to the easternmost border is eligible. Out-of-area teams must request a formal invitation.
To request a formal invitation to the 42nd edition of the Six Rivers Relays, please contact Meet Director Tanner Cook via email at tcook@timesnews.net. The meet director has a right to reject requests.
Relay cards will be used for archiving purposes, but relays athletes must be entered in the meet thru Milesplit registration page. The cards will be in your meet packets and they will need to be turned into the timer (Tim Johnson) ASAP. If you have to make a change for one of your relay legs, please notify the timer.
Weigh-ins for shot put and discus will begin at 2 p.m. at the Science Hill fieldhouse. Throwing implements must be certified by meet officials in order to compete.
Inspections for pole vault will be at the event site and will open one hour before the scheduled start of the girls competition (4 p.m.). Boys can begin inspections at the conclusion of the girls inspections.
TIMES MUST BE F.A.T. VERIFIED. NO EXCEPTIONS.
The meet this year will be sanctioned for Tennessee and Virginia, but more can be added if necessary. There will be no team entry fee.
We will follow the rules set forth by the NFHS.
School administration asks that teams NOT set up tents on the home side of the bleachers. Instead, teams may set up anywhere else along the outside of the fence on the grounds of the facility.
Unless you have permission from meet management, are an athlete getting ready to compete or a coach, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE INFIELD.
There will be a brief coaches and officials meeting at 3:30 p.m. on the football field at midfield.
The Science Hill visitors concession stand will be the hospitality for coaches, meet officials and media only.
The entry window will reopen at 9 p.m. on Friday, May 6 and will close on Sunday, May 8 at 6 p.m.
Final declarations are required by midnight on Sunday, May 8.

These standards are calculated based on the average of the last (if fewer than nine participants in the event) or ninth-place (if nine or more participants in the event) finisher over the last 10 editions of the meet.
If your athletes have a mark better than the standards, they will have a good chance at getting in. Just because your athlete meets a standard, however, does not guarantee entry into the meet.
If your athletes are a LONG way off the standard, then there is no need to enter them. These sorts of entries will be rejected.
If your athlete is close, they may get in.
**Coaches, if one of your athletes is an alternate, bring them to the meet. There is a chance that one of the top nine entries will scratch and your athlete will have the opportunity to compete. We want to have as many full sections/flights as possible.**
AWARDS AND T-SHIRTS
Medals will be given to the top three in every event.
There will be t-shirts available for sale on-site. Prices have yet to be determined. Competing athletes and alternates are entitled to a shirt on first priority.
Plaques will be given to the "Most Outstanding" performer on the boys and girls side for both field and running events. These athletes will be chosen by the Games Committee and Meet Director.
A special ceremony will be held at the end of the meet to recognize those athletes.
We ask that athletes that are in consideration for the award stick around until the end for photo opportunities with the presenters. The Meet Director will notify a coach if one of your athletes is in consideration.
