Graves leaves competitors in the dust Oct 12, 2007

Griff Graves (pictured right by John Herzog) stuck around for a while. Made a race of it. Then Graves dug in, recharged, and left everyone behind him in the dust. Using a long kick, a senior’s experience, and a drive-it-home mental approach, Graves took first place on Thursday afternoon in the 35th annual Trailblazer Invitational at Daniel Boone High School, finishing the 5k race in 15 minutes, 55.74 seconds. "I tried to turn it on going down the hill," the Abingdon senior said. "When I got to the two-mile point, I surged again." With the win, Graves became the first-ever three-time winner of the Trailblazer Invitational.Read full story... 

Three Middle School Regional Meets Completed Oct 10, 2007

  With three of the regional meets completed and in the books and the last two regions in the near future, This year is shaping up to be a great championship. The 2007 KTC/Tennessee Runner Middle school State Championships is year number two and the first year for regional qualifiers. This new format of regional meets brings the level of competition up a few notches. The format is top 5 teams and top 25 individuals (not on one of the top 5 teams) move on from the regional meets to the state championship.
