Final weekend of August and third week of cross country action in 2014 season. MileSplit US will be on-site with Brandon Miles and Jimmy Stevenson at the Marcus I Invitational with 2,220 athletes featuring some of the top runners and programs in the state of Texas.

Leading up to this year’s Brooks Twilight, the weather and humidity seem to just stick around the 90’s. Come race day though, the area got some much needed rain. Well, a lot of much needed rain. For those that made the meet, well, let’s take a closer look and see exactly how much fun and exciting this evening of racing really was….
The Brooks Twilight happens to be one of the largest twilight cross country races in the country and every year it seems to be larger and more competitive than the previous. The race is an early test for some of the best athletes around.
Well the end of August brings on a few more meets for Mississippi.
The rain-soaked turf slowed down competitors this weekend at the Brooks Memphis Twilight meet, but didn’t seem to have an effect on Houston Middle School runner, Felicity Bost. Now, wait, are we really putting a 6th grade junior high girl as our FloRunner of the week? Yes. (via FloTrack)
It was a clean sweep of individual champions for the state of Mississippi with Curtis Knight of Jackson Academy able to pull away away from defending Brooks Memphis Twilight Classic champ Camden Barrett (West Plains MO) in a 16:05 victory, while Starkville's Kate Mattox created enough separation herself to a 18:37 win.
