Wright earns All-American Honors

JOHNSON CITY, TN (March 11, 2006) --- Milligan College senior Chris Wright (Ocean City, Md.) ran 8:31.66 to finish sixth in the 3,000 meters at the NAIA National Indoor Track and Field Championships held this weekend at the Memorial Center at East Tennessee State University. With his top six finish, Wright also earned All-American honors and set a new Milligan record and beat his previous personal best from 2004.

This is the second time Wright earned All-American Indoor Track and Field honors in the 3,000 meters. As a sophomore he finished fifth and ran a personal best of 8:37.

"I'm very proud of Chris and his progress this indoor season. He stuck to his plan and it definitely paid off for him today," said Milligan head coach Chris Layne.

The Buffs finished tied for 38th at the NAIA National Indoor Track and Field Championship. Lindenwood (Mo.) University won the title, defeating Virginia Intermont College 94.5 to 81.
