When you walk past the gate at the Houston Classic this year, the first thing that comes to mind is the size of the meet… but then you look around and you can really feel why you’re at this meet – the talent.  Champions, Record Holders, Elite… you name it, the adjectives can’t begin to tell the story.   There certainly is the explosive (ahh… a track term) number of entries growing from about 400 in 2008 to over 1100 in 2010 to what we saw this year at over 1350 entries.  And as much as that stands out, the performances far surpassed the numbers at this exceptional meet held each April in the TN suburb of Germantown.    The meet is held over two days, with loads of prelims and half the field events on Friday and finishing up the following Saturday with the remaining field events and running finals.  And across the state of TN, this marks itself as one of the larger meets.  Taking out the Vols HS classic, this is truly the largest meet operated by High School coaches with the Ch...
